• Are push-up better than lifting weights for chest muscle mass?

Push-ups is a great exercise to build strength into your upper body core i.e. it involves
multiple muscles mainly Chest and Triceps. It helps to increase strength but here the
strength is limited due to the only involvement of body-weight. You will gain the initial
muscle mass to support your body-weight framework.

Muscle Mass is developed when you start lifting weights. Lifting more than earlier, tears
the muscles and these muscles repair over next few days developing some muscle mass.

As you start incrementing weights, it tears more muscles and slowly overtime will be
developing more muscle mass. Its applicable for all muscles in the body.

    The difference lies here :

In push-ups you are limited to lifting body-weight only.
In lifting weights(Barbells, Dumbbells, Machines, etc.) there are no restrictions.

Hence, the second scenario helps in developing more muscle mass over time.
