    I have noticed that as well. Wonder if it's just the warmer weather and people going out or it's a continual downward trend? Sometimes I wonder if I should even keep this up or not? We all need to get regular people on BBS's not just sysops, and that seems to be a difficult thing to do for some reason. Plus, I see some of these very well established BBS's out there and think that I am lightyears behind them and can never catch up to what they have going on. Frustrating. What the heck can I offer that a thousands other BBS's don't already have the will drive folks my way? Thats is the $ 64,000 question. If anyone is running SBBS, then we all probably have very similar things available.

    I think one of the main things going on right now are, people not staying inside as much. It's warm out..I made the mistake of closing my old board down when things got slow. I won't be doing it again, that's for sure. Stay the course sir.

    I won't say more, but I've noticed taht there are a heck of a lot of BBS's out there. I don't know how many users. Many are dead. But a lot of BBS's. So the scene is weridly alive.

    Off the top of my head, I think every Sysop has to think about usability. I'll giveyou one example. Mutiny BBS has a door game activity screen at login, so you can see which door games are active, by how many players. Never saw that before, but it sure helps to know where the activity is.

    Because l^H playing dead door games isn't fun, either.

    So Sysops have to help users know where the fun is.

    Some boards are so good, they will always have users.

    I think about usability all the time, and how to make it look good at the same time. It's a work in progress, and mine isn't the best.
    Also, playing dead door games is kind of depressing.



    ...I'm afraid to die. I just don't want to be there when it happens.
