• Sorry for the down time

From Morningstarr@HOBBYSPC to All on Mon May 11 09:22:11 2026
Windows pushed out a major update last night or this morning. Caused the system to restart. usually this isn't a problem, but it made me setup a Microsoft account and everything, before the desktop would even load. So it sat there for hours last night/this morning, without allowing any connections.

...I've got a memory for faces, but in this case I'll make an exception.

u should make the sbbs control a service, so it starts automatically.

It wasn't allowing desktop access until a microsoft account was created.

There's a very easy bypass to being forced to create a Microsoft Account. MS Accounts SUCK, spy-city! Only use local machine accounts. The command is "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" - google it, you'll find this everywhere.

I thought I read something about running it as an NT Service, possibly it's still in development testing mode or something. Don't remember exactly, but it was something DigitalMan (Rob) mentioned which made me question if I should do it or not. I could be wrong.

YEA. Mine rebooted as well, at least everything came back up except for the Commodore BBS running in VICE. I'm gonna have to stop this shit from happening.

Glad you're back up and didn't loos anything.

Yeah, I tried getting to the website when my PC booted up and seen it wasn't working so I just consoled in and let it start up. Tuesday was patch Tuesday though which did fix quite a few CVEs.
