BULLSEYE Bulletins

I want to add bulletins to display ANSI text announcements so I don't have to rely on users stumbling on the "Text File Section" to read about them.
It looks like I need to edit the file"bullseye.asc", to add a menu item, but I just don't get it. What's needed to add to the menu? I should probably read the docs but figured maybe there's a quickie answer here - LOL
I do know I need to add a link to the text file in bullseye.cfg.
Thanks.

It's like the most stupid screen imaginable -- you LITERALLY just edit the asc. That's it. make it say whatever. ALL the logic is in the config file, so the bullseye.asc can say, quite franky, whatever. you could have hidden bulletins if you want doing that... You just specify the bulletins in the cfg and that's that logic wise.

The moment I edit that .asc file, either is straight plain text using notepad or Pablo draw, it blows up the menu graphics on it. I can literally copy and paste a line and save it, it blows it up. I have to restore the file from backup. Is there some stupid editor I need for this? The CFG file works fine and the menu item #4, in the this case, works.
Thanks.

Am I over thinking this too much? I thought this could've been a compiled menu of sorts. If it's just a plain .ASC file I could probably just start over from scratch if I wanted to I suppose?

I figured it out. SyncDraw can edit that ASC in file color and not mess it up.
Thanks.

edit the bullseye ansi file and add to the bulletins, then edit bullseye.cfg i think. you can add things there. Use the other three or so that are in the cfg as an example. Create a text file or ansi with text and just add it to the cfg file. Super easy

yeah so editing the default ansi on synchronet is a chore, because they're saved as a different format like .bin. and .msg. Is there a bullseye.ans and a bullseye.asc? If you don't have a bullseye.ans you can make one, and add your bulletins in there. Also, you would think bullseye.cfg would be in the exec folder with the bullseye.js, well it's not lol. It's in the text menu with the ansi to bullseye

Pablo and Moebius should do fine... hmn.. been about 5 years since I messed with that file but it's a normal .asc so I'm perplexed at the moment.

Absolutely. It could literlaly be anything, really, just with that file name. _________

Is there a bullseye.ans and a bullseye.asc? If you don't have a bullseye.ans you can make one, and add your bulletins in there.
There was only the .asc file in there. Only SyncDraw could edit that correctly and not blow it up. I got you killer "biggiebullseye.ans" file and tried to get it to work as an bullseye.asc but just turned it black and white and blew up. I then just simply deleted the .asc entirely and named your custom ans drawing as bullseye.ans and it worked even after editing it with Pablo Draw. So..... it's now live. Thanks dude! Now I just need to create from nice ANSI notices and make them into bulletins, where they should be.
P.S. The drawing needs to be trimmed by 1 line. I don't like having people hit enter to finish displaying the picture and then show the options. I'll work on that tomorrow.

So, I'm happier than a Pig in Shit today! LOL
Finally got my bulletins the way I want it now that I am NOT over thinking the darn thing. Still a few tweaks, but I a very happy.
Thanks for the ANSI art dude. It really inspired me creating & configuring these today.

if you save it as bullseye.ans and not ans it will open the ans file first, if the user has ansi.

what kind of ansi are you looking for? Dude I am wanting to edit ripterm graphics but can't find a proper editor. Paplo draw opens it and displays rip files and text and numbers, just like if i open it with notepad lol.
