Hey sir, when you are in scfg in the message areas, message groups menu, and you click or select a group, you can import and export areas. Well synchronet has fazed out subs.txt in favor of another file type. It's called areas.ini and it has some advantages over subs.txt are not that big of a deal to me. If you import the file, it shouldn't give the sysop issues...apparantly it ate cpu cycles and was hard to read. From what I read from google's ai, if you are running a modern bbs, the issues subs has, shouldn't be an issue. I thought by using the ini file it would update the message areas, if someone added it it, without having to go in scfg. That isn't the case, it has to do with a feature/option being turned on in scfg, or qwk network settings on the host. It didn't say specifically. When the bbs connects to the host, the updated control.dat file will trigger the bbses to auto update the areas list and add it. I wasn't aware of that. Anyways, I'm gonna export the areas.ini file too so, the next time a sysop tries to setup hobbyspace, it hopefully won't be a nightmare, like it was for you. I'm sorry we had to fight it so hard to get this message network going. Thanks for all your help dude, you're a true friend, that I have never met in person. I never suspected I would become friends like this with a person I met online.

Hey Dude.. sorry for the delay. My boys had me super busy on Fathers Day and when I got home I was exhausted! LOL.

I wonder what the exporting differences are between areas.ini and backbone.na? All the FTN's I set up, I always imported a backbone.na type file they provided.

Also, I think the original issue, with initially setting up the QWK, was 3 of the subs were out of order from yours and messages were going into the wrong areas. Not sure if I messed that up or you might've changed the order after I grabbed the 1st subs.txt? Either way, we got it working. :)

Thanks for the kind words! Right back at ya!

I don't recall changing anything, but I wouldn't put it past me. I break stuff all the time. It was a nightmare, but we figured it out and it's working great! Thanks for all you do.
